Unlike the Music Festival (named after an investment group) the Agricultural Show is actually held in the town of Woodstock, NSW.
A popular part of the Show’s activities is the Speed Shear Competition which began in 2004. Hotly contested by gun shearers from around the district, the 2019 event saw 25 shearers front up for the glory (and prize money) of winning their class.
A highlight of the 2019 event were the two new shearing modules proudly supplied by Stockpro Livestock Handling Equipment.
The modules supplied were Stockpro’s standard 6m x 2.4m unit with raised board, removable safety railing, adjustable back support arms, count out pens and slide swing gates. This model has count out pens next to the catching pens rather than a chute (also available).
Woodstock Show Secretary, Alison Rutledge said; “Everyone loved the shearing modules, shearers and cockies alike. There were no complaints by anybody, they worked beautifully”!
